Our Schedule is Booked!Your Temple Public Library offers a variety of book clubs to meet your reading needs. From the classics to podcasts, we are here to keep you engaged and reading (or listening). 

The Second Look Book Club 
Join us every 1st Monday as we read books that were best-sellers when first released. These books were so good, they are worth a second look. For more information, contact Matt Gaines (mgaines@templetx.gov).

  • August 1:  The Vegetarian - Han Kang
The Great Books Club 
The Great Books Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Archive Room on the 2nd floor of the Library. Great Books focuses on short readings by historians and philosophers of Western civilization. Copies of the stories are provided to members. The Short Story Book Club 
The Short Story Book Club meets on the 3rd Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Archive Room on the 2nd floor of the Library.  The club reads short story selections by well-known authors.   • August 15: In Plain Sight - Mavis Gallant
Women Authors Book Club
This group is for reading, sharing, and discussing  novels written by female authors across all genres. This group meets the 4th Monday of each month in the Archives Room on the 2nd Floor of the Library. For more information, contact Jenniffer Hentzen (jhentzen@templetx.gov). 

  • August 22: Reading Margaret Atwood 
Traveling Tea

While not a book club in the conventional sense, our Traveling Tea club is a free, monthly tea subscription box with tea, books, snacks, and information on the location/theme of the month. Instructions for pickup will be emailed to you after your register. For more information, contact Jerica Glover (jglover@templetx.gov). All meetings are open to anyone who would like to come and discuss the current selection. The Library may not be able to supply copies for all attendees, but please use the contact information listed above to find out more information about obtaining a copy.
