All Together Now: Summer Reading 2023

This year’s theme is “All Together Now,” a celebration of community.

No one is too young or too old to take part in summer reading. We offer reading challenges for every member of your family. That’s right—even babies can participate! Our challenges are noncompetitive, so all participants earn prizes, regardless of reading levels and abilities. Best of all—YOU choose the books that you read!

Join us for our Kickoff Party on Saturday, May 27 from 1-3pm. We will enjoy refreshments, games, and crafts, and meet a special guest! All who register for a reading challenge at the party will be entered into a drawing for prizes.

We have many more fun things in store this summer! Fan favorites The Singing Zoologist and Move Your Tale will return to the library, and we will also host some new performers, including a puppet show presented by “A Real Mad Hatter,” and a magic show by The Astonishing Mr. Pitts. We’ll also have our story times, Kids Craft Corner, Teen Hangout, and more.

This summer, we are looking forward to relaxing with great books and with great friends at the Library. Join us for adult activities and events that are sure to bring all of us together -- Saturday Crafternoons , D&D art and mapmaking, backyard gardening and home maintenance tips, hygge and meditation time, as well as Library Libations with our friends at Wilson Valley Mercantile in Little River Academy.

Entertain the whole family with the outside DIY Tie-dye event, our monthly Lego Family nights, and our wildly popular Board Game-themed Escape Rooms—escape rooms do require registration.

Our full calendar of events can be found HERE

We thank the Friends of the Library and the City of Temple for sponsoring Summer Reading Program, and we look forward to being “All Together Now” this summer at your Temple Public Library!
