Family Summer Passport Program

Discover the thrill of summer adventures with the Family Summer Passport Program! This exciting initiative encourages families to explore multiple libraries and museums across our region. Pick up a passport and collect stamps at each participating location to complete your passport and redeem it for fantastic rewards from local vendors such as Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Firestreet Pizza, Grand Avenue Theater, Beltonian Theatre, The Art Department, That Art Place, and Xtreme Jump Adventure Park. Children ages 3-12 can earn stamps for each library or museum visited from May 31 to August 31, 2024. Completed passports can be redeemed by October 31, 2024.

The Temple Public Library is excited to announce the 2024 Summer Reading Program: Adventure Begins at Your Library! This program offers challenges and events for all ages, allowing everyone to earn rewards for reading their favorite books. Dive into a summer of literary adventures and collect your first passport stamp here!


Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum
Located in the historic Santa Fe Depot in Temple, Texas, the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum offers a fascinating journey through the history of the railroad. Enjoy permanent and changing exhibits, educational programs, and special events. This summer, don't miss the special exhibition Yosemite People, featuring the works of Jonas Kulikauskas, Eadweard Muybridge, and Ansel Adams. Military families can enjoy free admission through the Blue Star Museums program.

Bell County History Museum
Housed in the historic 1904 Carnegie Library, the Bell County History Museum takes visitors on a journey through the past with exhibits on The Land, Agriculture and Ranching, Transportation and Industry, and Education and Culture. Interactive touchscreens, the Moustache Teacup Collection, and paleolithic artifacts offer engaging experiences for all ages. This summer, explore the Vietnam War through artworks and artifacts from the Naval History and Heritage Command.


Temple Children's Museum
The Temple Children's Museum provides a safe and fun indoor space for families to learn and play together. With STEAM-focused exhibits and programs, children can develop cognitive, language, vocabulary, fine motor, and gross motor skills. Permanent and rotating exhibits ensure there's always something new to discover, making it an essential stop on your summer passport adventure.

Belton Lena Armstrong Public Library
The Belton Lena Armstrong Public Library offers a wide range of books, videos, audiobooks, and other materials for patrons of all ages. With informative and entertaining resources, this library is a perfect place for families to read, learn, and gather passport stamps.


Czech Heritage Museum & Genealogy Center
Located at 119 W. French Avenue, the Czech Heritage Museum & Genealogy Center is open Thursday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This museum showcases the rich history and culture of the Czech lands, the story of Czech immigrants in Texas, and the connections between Czech-Americans and their heritage. Explore these fascinating stories and earn your passport stamp at this cultural gem.
